Earlier this year AG launched it’s Joint Venture (JV) Consultancy to facilitate collaboration and promote development partnerships across the North of England. We had these plans in the pipeline for some time but were looking for the best opportunity to announce this new service, which aims to look at ways to initiate relationships with Registered Providers (RP’s) and Developers/Contractors.
We decided MIPIM 2019 was the ideal stage. The event in Cannes, France provided an excellent opportunity to announce or new JV service to an audience comprised of regional, national and international clients and colleagues. We were also lucky enough to meet Northern cricketing legend Andrew Flintoff!
MIPIM gave us the chance to advise those interested in learning more about JVs and meet some developers and contractors or RPs who themselves may have been thinking about how JVs could help them deliver new homes, but have not known how best (or whom) to approach to get the ball rolling.
The formation of the JV service follows the successful completion of Stonebrook, a 61 unit housing development delivered by Joint Venture Partners, Trafford Housing Group and Wates Living Space, where AG demonstrated our experience as a leading regional housing Development Advisor and Employers Agent.
Our network of RP’s, developers and contractors across the North, coupled with thousands of units either on site or at appraisal stage means we know the market and the crucial numbers and have the expertise and experience to deliver.
But enough with the history lesson, what are the benefits for those considering entering a JV? Well it’s not an exhaustive list but here are some:
- Access to increased opportunities – increase scale of schemes and number of houses delivered.
- Sharing of costs.
- Sharing of risks.
- Sharing of skills – learning from your JV partner.
- Building relationships.
- Mutual support and advice.
