Lancashire – A major commercial and industrial region since the industrial revolution which still boasts cutting edge engineering, bustling former old mill towns and booming Universities.
In 2007, the founding partners recognised a gap in the market for a Commercial Building Surveying Practice providing savvy but pragmatic advice. Both founders having learnt their trade in the Manchester offices of national consultancies and brought their knowledge and skills to form AG with their head office based in the City Centre business district, the administrative centre of Lancashire.
We are proud to say we have some leading Clients in this region which include BAE Systems, The University of Central Lancashire and Thwaites Brewery, to whom we provide a breadth of services including; Project Management, Pre-Acquisition Advice and Quantity Surveying.
A Growing Landscape
The future is looking bright with the Lancashire City Deal aiming to bring new investment in the region of £434 million to expand transport infrastructure in Preston and South Ribble at an unprecedented rate. This will drive the creation of circa 20,000 new jobs and generating the development of more than 17,000 new homes over the next ten years.
AG are involved in providing new homes across the region in both the private sector for developers and social sectors for providers such as Community Gateway Housing Association. These schemes include new build and renovation and conversion schemes (we love a conversion scheme – breathing new life into a building – true sustainability!)
AG act for regional Landlords providing Dilapidations Advice and overseeing refurbishment projects – all delivered with the AG Difference!
The close-knit network of Property and Construction professionals provides a great opportunity for collaboration and networking. In January, we launched ‘Last Friday Club‘ in Preston; a monthly Property and Construction networking event held at Forum Bar.
Breathing New Life into Preston’s Buildings
AG have also recently announced the purchase of our new Head Office in Preston!
The building on Cross Street which has stood empty for the past ten years will be reinstated thanks to a scheme funded by national lottery players as part of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
With help from Preston City Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, we will retain the character of the building within the design whilst ensuring it meets the need of a 21st century office.
Early works on the building have already uncovered original features such as stained glass, which will be retained and used as a feature in the completed project.
Jonathan Shaw, Managing Director of AG commented: “We are very excited to have purchased 1-2 Cross Street. With the assistance of the Heritage Lottery Fund we will be able to rejuvenate the building and transform it into an ultra-modern workspace that our staff deserve. Work has already begun onsite and we are hoping to move into our new Head Office early this year.”
We will be providing regular updates as works progress!
