You have recently recruited Building Surveyor Guy Crouch to the Manchester office, has he settled in well and what is Guy currently focusing on?
Having worked in the industry for several years now, Guy has settled in really well and is proving to be a valued team member.
Guy is currently managing a multi-million pound roof replacement scheme in Hyde for which we hope to be onsite in March 2019.
As you are still actively looking for Building Surveyors to join you in Manchester, what is it you look for in new recruits? Any tips to share for those interested in working for AG?
AG is a great place to work as I’m sure the rest of the team will agree. We have lots of exciting plans for 2019 and anyone who can adopt our core values will find themselves with a great opportunity to progress their career with such a forward thinking Practice.
Do you feel Manchester is currently facing any changes? It seems the property market is as booming as ever!
Ask the Manchester United fans in the office! John MacMillan is very worried its ‘Liverpool FC’s year!
No in all seriousness, the cranes on the Manchester skyline are ever present and we continue to see enquires for Commercial Property Services.
The new £350 million Trafford Park Metro Line is now well under way and will have six new tram stops, offering sustainable transport links to some of Greater Manchester’s busiest visitor destinations and is sure to further change the way people commute in and out of the City.
The line will also run through Trafford Park, Europe’s largest trading estate which is home to more than 1,300 businesses employing over 35,000 people.
Are you currently working on any exciting schemes?
Yes, I am currently acting as Employers Agent for a well-known online clothes retailer on their new head office development. We are quite early on in the project journey, but the planning application has now been submitted and we hope to be onsite later in the year for which the scheme will be our biggest commercial office refurbishment instruction to date. Watch this space!
What are the main issues that you still come across and how can you help?
We still continually see Tenants signing full repairing Leases without undertaking any sort of Technical Due Diligence. The answer is simple; Employ a Chartered Surveyor to prepare a Pre-Lease Assessment Report and Schedule of Condition – it will be the best money you ever spend come Lease end and the Landlord comes knocking!
Finally, what is the most satisfying part of your job?
Seeing our Manchester office grow and team members flourish is hugely satisfying!
