2017 is looking bright for Anderton Gables

2016 was another great year for Anderton Gables. The team has undertaken projects in new places, recruited new members of staff and relocated our Manchester office from the bustling city centre location of Deansgate to the newly formed business hub of Salford Quays.

The team has been successful in bidding for and winning tenders, assessed on Quality and Cost for major clients such as BAE, Trafford Housing and MAG Property. AG were proudly appointed as an approved Consultant on the Innovation Chain North West Framework (ICNW). The framework was set up by Great Places Housing Group who are hoping for a throughput of £500m on this scheme.  Clients include Great Places Housing Group, Adactus Housing, Halton Housing Trust and many more Housing Associations.   The framework sets out to establish relationships between clients and service providers of the projects to ensure individual requirements and targets are met and within budget.  AG have been appointed to provide Project Management and Building Surveying Services on this Framework.

March witnessed Anderton Gables proudly sponsoring the Legal Category at the Lancashire Business View Red Rose Awards. Anderton Gables were winners of the Property Business of the Year category in the 2015 awards and when asked if he has any tips / advice / words of encouragement to those companies thinking of entering this year, Jonathan Shaw, Managing Director, commented:-

“Online entry was easy although the questions need some careful consideration if you are serious about getting to the next stage. We really enjoyed the judging process as it gave us an opportunity to talk about our favourite subject – our business, and it was great to be in a challenging environment presenting to like-minded business leaders

My advice would be to look carefully at what is being asked of you and try and answer it. If you are lucky enough to get to the presentation stage, take your chance, don’t be nervous – brim with enthusiasm.”

September witnessed AG being appointed as Employer’s Agent, Principal Designer and Cost Consultants acting for both parties on the newly formed Joint Venture between Trafford Housing Trust and Wates Living Space Homes. This multi-million-pound scheme comprises of the redevelopment of the abandoned Bayer Industrial Complex situated in West Timperley, Greater Manchester.  The complex will be replaced with 33 high quality family homes and 29 apartments.

Taking into consideration this extended workload, we strengthened our team accordingly with the recruitment of the following members – In February, Management Consultant Kim Tasso was appointed to our board as a Non-Executive Director, In June, Jack Ward joined the Commercial Building Surveying Team full time after graduating from UCLan with a 2:1 in Building Surveying, Joe Readfern joined the Commercial Building Surveying team in July and is currently working hard towards gaining his RICS Chartership, Kirsty Robinson joined us in August to assist with the Business Development and Marketing and is currently working towards a Degree in Business and Management Studies and in November, Rebecca Rawcliffe joined us as a Building Surveyor in our Manchester Office and Rebecca is also working hard towards gaining RICS Chartership. Jonathan Shaw, Managing Partner of Anderton Gables commented:-

“I would like to thank our new and existing team members for their individual contributions to the company over the last year. We have a faced several challenges along the way, but with the continuous hard work of each individual, we have managed to overcome those challenges”.

Due to the continued success and expansion of the company, AG had “outgrown” the office on Deansgate and gained new surroundings and the wonderful views of the up-and-coming Exchange Quay, Salford Quays. Exchange Quay combines a wide range of business amenities, has a wealth of leisure and retail facilities available within the area and creates a constant evolving working environment. The nearest Metrolink station to the office is Exchange Quay and is just 7 minutes away from Manchester City Centre. The nearest road links include the M62, M60, M602, A5063 and the A56.

Andrew Whittle, Partner at Anderton Gables comments: –

“Due to the offices being located within a prime location and containing state of the art meeting room facilities, it enables AG to deliver the very best results for our clients and their buildings”.

And finally, following a busy year for all involved, the Annual AG Festive Fizz was held on Thursday 15th December at the Forum Bar, Winckley Street, Preston. The “Fizz”, as always, was a great night and welcomed Key Clients, Referrers, Colleagues and Friends and was wonderful to see a large amount of the Lancashire Business Community in one place.

The start of 2017 has already welcomed a new member of staff to the team! Su Sealby joins us from EC Harris’s Manchester Office and brings with her a wealth of experience within the Property and Construction Industry and will be responsible for heading up a new Project Team Division at the Preston Office.

With many new and exciting projects in the pipeline for this year, as well as the company celebrating their 10-year birthday in September, attending MIPIM in March and the team taking part in the JLL Property Triathlon in July, 2017 is on target to the best year yet!!
