Spotlight on Stuart Carter

Stuart, as an Associate of Anderton Gables, what does your role involve?

Along with providing professional services to our clients, largely on our project and development side of the business, my role as an Associate is also focused on developing client relationships in order to obtain new work sources as part of our strategic long-term programme of growth for the Company.  This also involves assisting in the development and leadership of staff members to ensure we maintain our high standard of service.

Any business or personal highlights you would like to share with us?

Personal highlights are obviously getting married and having children and now watching them grow and achieve their own goals however small (proud but not pushy parents!).  With regards to work highlights, gaining chartered status in 2006 is something I am proud of, but also being recognised and made an Associate within 12 months of working at Anderton Gables in recognition of my work.  I have also worked on numerous prestigious listed buildings such as St George’s Hall in Liverpool and North Wales Hospital, Denbigh which given my interest in historical architecture, has been a real highlight.

What do you most enjoy about working for the company?

Having been with AG for over 3 years and seen the company grow, it’s great to work in a company which encourages everyone to contribute.  This leads to a good working environment and a great team mentality.

What do you do in your spare time? Any interesting hobbies?

Most of my spare time is taken up by sports, namely rugby.  Having played rugby union from a very young age, I now have the pleasure of coaching junior rugby (my son’s team!) at our local club.  This also gives me the opportunity to spend Sunday afternoons reminiscing with ex-team mates over a pint or two in the club house!  Being from Wigan, I’m also an avid rugby league fan (despite the union background) and enjoy attending home games with my Dad and son.  I’ve also taken part in numerous obstacle races and trail runs as a way of keeping fit and am always looking to plan the next challenge!
